Events ‘must have a real impact on clients’ business’
Event organisers need to manage costs and constantly have their finger on the pulse of their business to ensure they emerge from the recession, according to an expert.
Peter Jackson, managing director of eventwise and a board member of industry body Eventia, says must keep a close eye on their finances to ensure that a balance between expenditure and income is maintained.
He explains that a few months of disparity in budgeting can have major implications for a business.
Mr Jackson adds that from a client’s point of view, they need to make sure they are adding true value to their offerings and not merely reducing prices.
They must deliver events that can have “a real impact” on a customer’s business, he says.
Mr Jackson asserts: “Those agencies, suppliers and venues that can use the current situation to their benefit and emerge stronger will be excellently placed to reap the rewards of the recovery.”
