2010 will be the seventh year that the Aerolink event has been held in Wales. Starting out as a small Meet the Buyer event to complement an international MRO event in Cardiff, it has grown into an international event which, in 2009, attracted over 250 delegates from 160 organisations with over 600 meetings between delegates being organised on the day.
Delegates are primes, tier suppliers, SMEs, Universities and Research Centres. The emphasis of the event is on business development, innovation and tech transfer. Attendees are typically at director level. Purchasing and technical disciplines are heavily represented.
The event features:
Meet the Buyer ñ on average there are 18 ñ 20 buyers, often accompanied by their technical team members, from companies such as:
British Airways Avionics Engineering
Contour Premium Aircraft Seating
GE Aircraft Engine Services
A seminar programme ñ a number of seminars are arranged throughout the day covering issues pertinent to the delegates such as how to sell to the MOD or the use of composites in aircraft.
An Exhibition ñ there is an exhibition at the event which gives supplies the opportunity to show their products or services to the delegates.
Collaboration meetings ñ this is a new element introduced in 2008 where delegates are encouraged to formally meet with each other to explore areas of potential collaboration and new product development.
