Ageas Salisbury International Arts Festival 2012 presents an array of over 100 spectacular events. Classical music shares the limelight with international theatre, film, dance, visual arts, children's events, free outdoor events and a full literature programme. Inspirations for the 2012 programme are the vibrant culture of Brazil, celebrations of olympic themes and the Queen's Diamond Jubilee celebrations.

Dazzling events include Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre, singer songwriter Joan Armatrading and internationally celebrated composer Jonathan Dove, who has created an awe-inspiring new piece especially for the festival.

Our FREE opening concert Le Concert De Feu will launch the Festival with a bang as world-renowned French company Les Commandos Percu bring the magic of fire and flames to Salisbury.

We are also thrilled to welcome Jon Richardson and Shappi Khorsandi and The Boy with Tape on his Face for a serving of fantastic comedy.

Family events include Illyria Theatre performing Roald Dahl’s classic The Twits and our popular Playday, a FREE activity event for all the family to enjoy.

Our Favela to Salisbury weekend welcomes back vibrant cultural group Afroreggae for a celebratory weekend of music, dance and film inspired by the pioneering work in the favelas of Rio de Janeiro.

Our 2012 Film Programme includes some of the best new films from Brazil, including four UK premieres.

The Festival will end with our famous Party in the Close, a celebration for the whole family to enjoy with fireworks, live music and street theatre set against the beautiful backdrop of Salisbury Cathedral.
