About the event

If the (Engineering) sector is to optimise the potential presented by these new and ongoing demands then action needs to be taken now to raise the knowledge in the industry and improve the visibility of the needs of their target market sector.

Possibly the biggest single area that requires attention is the overall ‘Fitness’ of the Engineering sector companies to precisely address the needs and demands of the key Energy players.

This event will bring the sectors together and facilitate the process of identifying what is required, how it should be presented and who are the critical contacts. Through this event and the follow on actions the Engineering sector will become fully aware of the needs and become ‘Fit to Supply’ on a consistent and dependable basis.

A recent economic study carried out on behalf of Great Yarmouth Borough Council highlighted the importance of the Energy sector to the local economy both bow and over the next 10 to 15 years. The energy sector will require the support and engagement of the engineering and manufacturing sectors to achieve its full potential and bring greatest benefit to the local
area in terms of jobs and investment.

The energy sector has played a central role in the life of the town for decades and the Council and partners have responded by doing everything they can to provide a supportive
environment. We are supporting this event to assist local engineering companies and promote the opportunities that Great Yarmouth has in the energy sector. Engineering Future Growth will raise awareness of both the scope and breadth of opportunities in the energy sector for engineering and
manufacturing businesses. More importantly it will set out what is required of companies to be successful in winning contracts in a very demanding and competitive environment.
