What would the company you would enjoy working for look like?
What sort of oil and gas company would allow you to make the most of your talents?
What makes the ideal company?
What is the perfect recipe for the workplace?
If you have strong views about how the oil and gas industry should respond to the shifting aspirations of the up-and-coming generation of new business leaders, here is your chance to air them - at Oil & Gas UK's Next Generation Conference 09!
The Oil & Gas UK Next Generation Conference '09 provides a platform for people in the early stages of their career, from across a range of disciplines, to gather and debate the next generation’s views and expectations on current and emerging issues facing the industry.
There are still 25bn barrels of oil to be extracted from the North Sea. However to recover these we will need to overcome technological challenges, increase operational and capital efficiency and attract billions of pounds worth of new investment. It is the next generation, the young professionals of today from across the sector, who will lead the way in the future. In their hands will lie the responsibility to ensure our industry maximises its resource recovery, making its vital contribution to the UK's security of energy supply while at the same time capitalising on the international export opportunities for UK oilfield goods and services.
To succeed we will need to attract, develop and retain the best of the best - the next generation of managers and leaders.
Building on last year's Oil & Gas UK Next Generation conference, we want you to tell us about the kind of oil and gas industry you would like to work in. We want to know how you plan to fulfil your ambitions while at the same time ensuring the long-term sustainability of the UK's offshore oil and gas industry.
The conference themes are:
Flexibility - in the workplace to accommodate new ideals and changing attitudes
Success - finding the right formula for individual and company success
Engagement - with society … what is the industry’s most important role?
The outcome from the conference will provide us with a template for how the oil and gas industry, inspired by the views and ideas of the next generation, can meet its future challenges and opportunities. The ideas generated at the conference will be fed back to HR professionals at an Oil & Gas UK skills seminar in May and to then to a wider industry at the Oil & Gas UK Breakfast at Offshore Europe in September.
