Events organiser, UK Consumer Shows, has today announced the launch of UK Holidays at Home . This is the very first consumer event to focus on Holidays at Home, an event where we can bring together the very best that the United Kingdom has to offer and provide visitors with a wealth of knowledge and information and maybe a few special deals along the way.
It is estimated that in 2011, UK residents took around 119 million trips of one night or more within the UK. These trips involved a total of 373 million nights away from home, resulting in an average tourism trip length of 3.1 nights. (source: Visit Britain)
Decisions were influenced by poor exchange rates, impact of increasing Air Passenger Duty, environmental concerns and positive UK weather predictions.
With very little change to the economic climate more and more people are planning holidays at home than ever before, be it for one or two days, a weekend or longer.
The event will be staged at Manchester Central on the 16th & 17th February 2013 and will be free admission, open each day from 10am to 5pm
