The British Wind Energy Association is the trade and professional body for the UK wind and marine renewables industries. Formed in 1978, and with 479 corporate members, BWEA is the leading renewable energy trade association in the UK. Wind has been the world's fastest growing renewable energy source for the last seven years, and this trend is expected to continue with falling costs of wind energy and the urgent international need to tackle CO2 emissions to prevent climate change.
BWEA's eighth annual event dedicated to offshore wind energy in the UK
BWEA organises a series of annual conferences as well as the industry's annual conference and exhibition, BWEA31. BWEA also runs a series of networking events, BWEA Connect, which are free for members of BWEA. In addition BWEA hosts regular meetings and informal workshops, as well as attending other conferences and exhibitions, a number of which are supported by BWEA.
BWEA's events are designed by the industry for the industry and all proceeds are ploughed back into developing the wind, wave and tidal energy in the UK. With an increasing number of renewable energy events appearing on the calendar, BWEA urges its members to support BWEA's events, which guarantee quality and value for money.
