About the event

Part 6 of an 8 lecture series on the Plant Collections at Caerhays. Hybredisation work means yelllow magnolias now flower well onto April and May. Several of the new and still relatively unknown yellow magnolias will be featured. All lectures start at 10am prompt (coffee from 9.30am) Except 19th March. A large range of cut material will be on display and demonstrations of propagation/hybridisation will take place along with a tour of the garden. Those attending can continue to enjoy the gardens after lunch. Lectures in the series are: 5 March Evergreen Oaks and Champion Trees 12 March The Plant Heritage Collection of Magnolias. 19 March Magnolias by Jim Gardiner (including book launch). 26 March Camellia, Magnolia & Rhododendron Hybrids raised at Caerhays. 9 April The Podocarpus Collection at Caerhays. 16 April Yellow Magnolias in the Plant Heritage Collection. 7 May Scented Rhododendrons at Caerhays. 25 June More Unusual Summer Flowering Trees & Shrubs.
