DB Systems' total capital expenditure on new equipment has reached £1 million over the past two years, the company has announced.

According to the IT and audio visual hire company, this high level of investment demonstrates DB's willingness to provide clients with the "very best" equipment.

The company, which recently netted the Equipment Supplier of the Year accolade at the 2010 AEO Excellence Awards, said it has invested in seamless LCD panels, touchscreens, Microsoft Surfac units, 3D Pyramoid units, a range of HD monitors, laptops and Apple iPads over the past two years.

David Bulley, DB's managing director, said that many organisations in the event and exhibition industry have been impacted by the recession.

"However, despite such difficult trading conditions, DB is continually trusted by clients to provide AV and IT support at some of the biggest events in the world, such as Farnborough International Airshow and Mobile World Congress.

"This means it is crucial that we provide an unrivalled quality of equipment and service," he said.

Earlier this year, DB Systems said its contracts with both Clarion Events and Incisive Media had been extended.
