Big names lined up for Birmingham marketing conference

<p>The BBC's economics editor and Dragon's Den presenter Evan Davis has been confirmed as the host of the forthcoming annual conference of the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM). </p><p>Set to take place at the newly-refurbished Crown Plaza hotel on November 11th, the one-day event will see some of the UK's leading marketing industry professionals and economic observers travel to the Midlands to discuss the future challenges and prospects of the sector. </p><p>Specifically, the conference will concentrate on four key areas, namely digital marketing, sustainability, segmentation and effective engagement with employees, with seminars and lectures to be supplemented by hands-on workshops supervised by experts. </p><p>The CIM believes that the event will show that by "analysing, anticipating and addressing changes to their markets and customers, business managers can better prepare their organisation for these more challenging times".</p><p>Speaking alongside Mr Davis, delegates will also benefit from the advice of Birmingham City Football Club's Karen Brady, while the former chief of the Millennium Dome PY Gerbeau will also be making a presentation. <img alt="ADNFCR-1753-ID-18677240-ADNFCR" src="http://feeds.directnews.co.uk/feedtrack/justcopyright.gif?feedid=1753&it..." /></p>
