Clarion Events is to launch a new trade show for the gift industry which will be held at Olympia this September.

Clarion Events is to launch a new trade show for the gift industry which will be held at Olympia this September.

The event organisers said they had already secured support from major players within the sector for the inaugural London Gift Fair, including Parlane International, The Libra Company and Lesser and Pavey.

It will co-locate with design-led show Top Drawer, having a particular focus on buyers from London and the south-east of England.

"We have been looking at launching a general gift show for some time and that we should house London Gift Fair alongside Top Drawer providing an impressive and broad offering at this key buying time," said Naomi Hird, marketing communications manager for the new event.

She added that the format would allow visitors to see a wide range of products in a single location.

Earlier this week, Jack Morton Worldwide announced that it had been appointed by the Ministry of Defence to create an event to mark the dedication of a World War I cemetery.
