<p>Conference organisers in Nottingham have launched a new campaign designed to promote conference centres around Nottingham and the East Midlands.</p><p>Nottingham Conferences plans to build on the £64 million of revenue brought to the region through the course of this year by executing a comprehensive PR and advertising campaign to boost local business tourism. The campaign will begin early next year when a large group of agents will be taken on a weekend tour of various conference venues in Nottingham. An exhibition on the range of local meeting venues available will also be put on at the East Midlands Conference Centre.</p><p>Kirstie Danzey, marketing manager for Nottingham Conferences, said: "Our year-long awareness campaign is designed to increase awareness of Nottingham as a conference and events destination."</p><p>Social activities will also be promoted in a bid to show conference organisers what is available to business tourists between meetings when they are looking to wind down.</p><p>The BBC reports that the local economy in Nottingham could receive an additional boost with the development of a £400 million expansion to the Broadmarsh shopping centre.<br/><img alt="ADNFCR-1753-ID-18932521-ADNFCR" src="http://feeds.directnews.co.uk/feedtrack/justcopyright.gif?feedid=1753&it..." /></p>
