De Boer building portable staging space at Farnborough

Europe's largest temporary exhibition space is being created for this year's Farnborough International Airshow.

Specialist structure and portable staging firm De Boer is creating 90,000 sq m of floor space for the show, which takes place between July 19th and 25th.

De Boer project manager Liz Routh told Event magazine: "The Farnborough International Airshow continues to be a logistically complex assignment for De Boer, not least because of the huge number of structures required and the vast range of different products being used."

This year, exhibition space at the show, which is one of the world's most iconic global aviation events, sold out in May.

According to organisers, there has been "considerable" investment in the event in order to improve networking opportunities and the overall visitor experience.

In 2008, the show featured 165 aircraft in static and flying displays, while 153,000 members of the public attended the non-trade weekend.
