The popularity of ice rinks has been helping to ensure that structure specialist company De Boer has been busy of late.

According to the firm, it has been providing event staging temporary accommodation for around 12 different ice rinks.

The structures are being used as changing areas, ticket offices, storage rooms, cafés and viewing balconies, the company said, adding that it is also creating the rink floor at a number of locations.

De Boer key accounts manager Kate Morrison said the company has been providing accommodation to temporary ice rinks for many years.

"As the popularity of skating continues to grow, clients are increasingly turning to us as an experienced partner that can help them create a festive experience to remember," she added.

Earlier this year, De Boer's services were also used when the Pope made his visit to the UK, with the company supplying more that 7,500 sq m of temporary accommodation to WRG Creative Communication.
