Simon Evans has joined the ranks of Showplans as Chief Technology Officer in the role of a developer for the launch of the company's forthcoming upgraded Visitor Event Planner.

Simon has a varied and impressive employment history spanning the last 8 years, having worked as a Technical Artist for Pivotal Games and Lead Technical Artist for Codemasters. Subsequent to these positions he set up his own company, v16 Studios Limited, where his work has included developing systems for Relentless's xBox 360 Kinect project “Kinect Nat Geo TV”. In the above roles Simon has consistently been at the forefront of his field, developing new tools, methods and prototypes and shaping the way things are done within the companies he's worked for and beyond.

Simon's deft skills as a designer and his gaming background were immediately noticed by Showplans and extremely influential in the decision to take him on, as explained by MD Adam Jones: “with his gaming background, Simon brings a fresh approach to the world of 3D visualisations and interactive floorplans that Showplans are already known for, allowing us to continue breaking boundaries in the industry”. Simon says “there are many innovative and exciting new features on the horizon for the next generation of Showplans Event Planner technology which have yet to be seen in this sector of the industry and I look forward to starting development of the first phase to deliver a new suite of online tools and software for organisers, exhibitors and visitors.”

We warmly welcome Simon to the industry and wish him all the best as he joins Showplans in the company's ongoing growth.
