Event jobs to be created with establishment of BH LIVE trust

A new charitable trust will take on the management of the Bournemouth International Centre (BIC), the Pavilion and five leisure centres in the area from April this year.

A new charitable trust will take on the management of the Bournemouth International Centre (BIC), the Pavilion and five leisure centres in the area from April this year.

The organisation is to be called BH LIVE, representing the BH postcode for Bournemouth and an acronym for the areas of business covered - leisure, international venues and events.

Event jobs will become available with the introduction of the new trust, which is currently looking for non-executive board members to work with the executive management team providing strategic direction for the organisation.

BH LIVE will operate a total of seven venues and aims to promote leisure and cultural opportunities.

"The benefits of establishing the new not-for-profit organisation are significant," commented Peter Gunn, managing director of BIC and Pavilion.

Recently, the BIC announced that it was freezing its electrical mains tariff in 2010 for the second consecutive year, absorbing rising energy costs for clients.
