Sodexo Prestige has won a contract to provide services for Tyne and Wear Archives and Museums (TWAM), serving five venues.

The deal, which is worth £5 million in total turnover, will see the event organisers providing conference, banqueting and visitor catering services, as well as sales and marketing support.

Sodexo Prestige will work with Discovery Museum, Laing Art Gallery, South Shields Museum and Art Gallery, and Segedunum Roman Fort and Museum, in addition to the Great North Museum: Hancock which the company already serves.

It won the contract with the Great North Museum: Hancock in May last year, managing two cafes and a range of conference and event suites, including a large exhibition space of over 500sqm.

"Our focus is to provide a smooth operation, offer a great visitor catering experience, and to work with the museums to build on their strengths for corporate and private business," said David Johnson, managing director, Sodexo Prestige.

Thorns Group recently secured a three-year extension to its contract with London's Business Design Centre to supply conference, event and exhibition furniture.
