MashMedia, organisers of the Event Production Show and International Confex, have released details about the content for the 2015 co-locating shows. With the UK’s ability to host and produce prestigious sporting events readily recognised on the global stage, the Event Production Show 2015 will seek to highlight the professionals and expertise that deliver these spectacular occasions and how the industry can get involved.

The Rugby World Cup (RWC), set to be one of the most highly anticipated sporting events taking place in 2015, will be a prime focus for both the Event Production Show and International Confex. At Confex a pavilion of venues involved with the RWC will have a presence on the Show floor; whilst EPS will feature RWC content in the educational programme and a dedicated RWC Performance Skills Arena, sponsored by Pop Up Arena, with interactive sporting activities and a number of surprise guests!

Continuing the sporting theme, on the Main Stage at EPS, the highly renowned Access Sessions will open with a panel discussion on ‘The Importance of Opening and Closing Ceremonies to the Cultural Heritage and Legacy of Large Sporting Events’. The panel will be chaired by Piers Shepperd of Wonder Works, the technical director behind all four London 2012 ceremonies, and will include David Zolkwer from Jack Morton Worldwide, who was head of ceremonies and artistic director for the 2014 Glasgow Commonwealth Games.

A further sporting session is planned for the seminar theatre, called “A Sporting Chance”. The 30 minute discussion will look at how brands are choosing sporting events to promote or launch products as well as the rise in experiential activity within sport.

Liz Agostini, event director, commented: “Sporting events represent major business for the UK events industry and with the sector set to remain in the spotlight throughout 2015; we felt it was important to provide a platform to highlight future opportunities. Many of our exhibitors already have long-term contracts and repeatedly win work to create international sporting events so we are confident that in addition to the Access Session, there will also be ample expertise across the Show floor!”

“Content has always been a crucial component of the Show’s success so we have worked hard to devise a range of sessions to inspire both visitors and exhibitors alike.

The Event Production Show and International Confex will take place on 18th - 19th February at Olympia, London. Registration for the 2015 Event Production Show is now open, register at www.eventproductionshow.co.uk/register.
