Two event technology companies will join forces to create one business for conference organisers this year, saying that it was a "logical step".

Venue IT, a provider of telecommunications services, and technology firm Etherlive have merged, following more than 18 months of working together on a number of projects.

Chris Green, managing director at Etherlive, said: "We're excited about the prospects ahead and look forward to delivering solutions that enhance the experience of organisers, exhibitors and visitors at all sorts of events across the UK."

Mike Lang, co-owner of Venue IT, added that conference organisers working with the company will benefit from improved resources and new complimentary services.

He added that it is exactly what people need for a "successful event" and that current clients will be able to continue to deal with the same people.

Event organisers tfconnect and F2F have recently joined forces to help stage the new Technology for Events show, which will take place in July.
