ExCeL London has signed a 10 year agreement with Melville GES to appoint it as the venue’s preferred event services supplier for all new congresses, corporate events and exhibitions held at the venue.

Melville GES will also support ExCeL London's commercial team and contribute to the rapidly growing conference and congress business.

David Pegler, MD, ExCeL London, said, “This agreement is based upon tremendous synergies between Melville GES and ExCeL London. We are both looking to attract the world's leading conferences and congresses. By combining our knowledge, skills and resources we are able to offer a very attractive package to encourage new events into London and ExCeL. We have already secured a number of major congresses including the Annual Meeting of the European Group for Blood & Marrow Transplantation, the Annual Conference of the European Society of Human Reproduction & Embryology and the European Conference on Optical Communications."

The agreement, which commences on 1 January 2013, also sees Melville GES launch a dedicated Congress Team to be lead by Dan Corderoy, commercial director and will include Caroline Chase, ex-LOCOG organiser, Justin Squires, recently appointed director of international live events, and Koreen O'Malley, formerly Melville GES' Olympic project design manager. All the Melville GES staff at the venue will be based in state-of-the-art offices at ExCeL London, enabling them to work closely with the ExCeL London Congress and Events team to provide seamless services to the venue and its customers.

Melville GES COO Andy Gibb said, "The potential we can unlock through this agreement is huge as these are large, global congresses and peripatetic exhibitions that plan years in advance. Working alongside ExCeL London, with a dedicated team within the venue, we can grow and develop this market and attract more events to the UK and ExCeL, as well as improving the level of service the customers receive, which will benefit all parties involved.”

As part of the agreement, Melville GES will also supply graphics services to InVision (ExCeL London's in-house advertising sales agency) for the duration of the contract, and will have an exclusive position in the Capital Suites, a series of meeting rooms and event space that forms part of the new International Convention Centre.
