Earls Court and Olympia have become the first major UK venue ever to launch a mobile-optimised website*.

Mobile internet devices outsold computers as far back as 2009, yet recent research has found that only 7% of British firms are confident that they had optimised their sites for mobile use (results from 1&1 ‘SME Mobile Website Audit’ - internet survey of 530 UK companies).

The EC&O Venues mobile website provides essential information in a clear, concise and quick-to-load package.

Users can see what’s on, find out how to get to the venues, discover places to eat and drink nearby and access EC&O’s social networks. Event organisers have their own section to browse the selection of venue spaces, view virtual tours, identify service partners and stay informed of the latest news.

"Our mobile-optimised site works across a whole range of handsets, including Blackberry and iPhone, and gives our organisers yet another opportunity to raise the profile of their events. It also provides a vital and fun resource for our visitors. However we’re already looking forwards and will be launching our new digital project later this year" said EC&O’s Head of Marketing, Tom Lambregts.

*EC&O Venues researched the websites of large UK event, exhibition, music and sports venues, (including the O2, ExCeL, NEC, SECC, Manchester Central, Business Design Centre, Alexandra Palace, Wembley) and when accessed on a mobile device they found them to have no mobile optimisation, be slow loading and have difficult navigation.
