Glasgow will host the Main Event, a corporate convention, hospitality and entertainment fair, at the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre this March.

Last year, the exposition attracted 1,000 visitors, with a variety of stalls showcasing everything from display systems to stand design.

"When organising an event, the main barriers are often where to source information on venues, organisers, entertainment, transport and catering. The Main Event will answer all these questions," says Fran McIntyre, director of the exhibition.

The Main Event is free to attend and will feature presentations from Apex Hotels, En Croute Catering, Go Ape, Historic Scotland, Mariott Hotels and Tents and Events.

Arran Moffat, business development manager at Sound and Vision, which exhibited at last year''''s exposition, says the fair is "very boutique" and offers a good opportunity for traders to meet their competition.

Corporate tourism is booming in Scotland, it was reported recently, with the sector set to earn £5.5 million in Dundee and Angus this year, according to local newspaper the Evening Telegraph.
