YPL Exhibitions has confirmed that the Group Leisure Show taking place on 24-25 September 2008 at the NEC in Birmingham is to be expanded to include the travel industry, as well as its usual audience of leading leisure group organisers.

Sales manager for the exhibition, Sharon Yandell, said: "We are modifying the exhibition name as from the forthcoming September presentation to reflect recent changes in the exhibition market. The new Group Leisure & Travel Trade Show is set to fill a gap at the NEC following the departure of the BTTF, which now becomes part of a new 'Best of Britain' show at the ExCeL London in March 2009. Our rebranded show remains the biggest travel trade exhibition at the NEC and will build on a successful 12-year history of quality and reliable presentations.”

The show will retain its international dimension, according to Yandell. “Exhibitors will receive the same value and quality audience as usual, plus the added value of opening up the exhibition to the wider travel trade market through, and building on, an established and reliable event, which also uniquely links with the very popular black tie Awards dinner on the Wednesday evening,” she explained.

Meanwhile, the show’s organiser, Emma Cash, added: "Let's not forget the all-important visitor. We will be able to offer all travel trade, group organiser and coach operator visitors even more to see than previously, starting this year.”
