Liverpool Launches Industry First Bidding Tool

Liverpool Convention Bureau and ACC Liverpool are set to launch an online bidding tool at IMEX, streamlining the process of securing international and domestic conferences for the city.

Liverpool Convention Bureau and ACC Liverpool are set to launch an online bidding tool at IMEX, streamlining the process of securing international and domestic conferences for the city.

Liverpool is one of the first destinations in Europe to offer the technology, which will be housed on an independent website and form part of Liverpool’s forward thinking and technically advanced approach to conferencing.

Designed to present all aspects of a conference bid on an accessible, password-protected website, it will include easy to navigate sections on venue information, letters of support, transport, and recommended venues for dinners or evening events. Crucially, this can then form the basis of an event website for successful bids, containing all the pertinent information for delegates such as access, timings, itineraries and programmes.

The tool aims to take the place of producing hard copy bids for conferences, making it a much greener option and also reinforcing the city’s green agenda.

Highlighting ACC Liverpool as a key conference and exhibition venue, the bidding tool launches at the same time as the venue’s advanced Virtual Viewer, an interactive online virtual tool which showcases the venue’s flexible conference and exhibition spaces.

The Liverpool Bidding Partnership, incorporating Liverpool Convention Bureau, ACC Liverpool, the Liverpool Hoteliers Association and other partners, will work together to present the most compelling reasons to bring a conference to Liverpool.

Carol O’Reilly, Liverpool Convention Bureau Manager, comments: “We believe we are one of the only destinations in Europe to have produced an online bidding tool, which is a clear demonstration that Liverpool is leading the way in the conference market. We hope the launch at IMEX will continue to attract interest in our city and venues such as ACC Liverpool”.

Kerrin MacPhie, Director of Sales at ACC Liverpool, adds: “The online bidding tool is unique to Liverpool and is another added benefit for conference and event organisers, making the entire process more efficient, easier and greener. The bidding tool and Virtual Viewer are further examples of Liverpool’s commitment to embracing technology and enhancing client experience”.

Chair of the Liverpool Hoteliers Association, Michael Dewey, also adds: “This is just another example of the Liverpool Convention Bureau and ACC Liverpool proving they are without doubt a leader in this marketplace rather than a follower. We in the Hoteliers Association fully support our colleagues with this innovative initiative”.

The bidding tool and ACC Liverpool Virtual Viewer will be launched on Visit England Pavilion F340 at IMEX, Frankfurt between 22-24 May.
