<p>Major refurbishment has been completed at nearly 40 Marriot hotels across the UK, including improvements to 13 event venue spaces, reports travelbite.co.uk.</p><p>The work has taken 18 months to complete and has cost an estimated £120 million, involving refurbishments to 5,000 bedrooms and installing over 30 new coffee bars and restaurants. The event venue spaces have been complemented by the addition of 300 meeting rooms designed to appeal to conference organisers around the country.</p><p>The hotels have each been designed in one of four separate styles, consisting of 'urban', 'country club', 'bespoke' and 'international', with the London Marriott Hotel Regent's Park receiving £10 million of the overall investment.</p><p>Elsewhere, over £5 million has been spent on the Tudor Park Hotel & Country Club, marking it as the most expensive Marriott in the southern counties, while the Bournemouth Marriott Highcliff hotel overlooking the Dorset coast received nearly £4 million.</p><p>Businessweek.com reports that Marriott is one of several luxury hotel brands to have suffered losses during the financial crisis, so the company will be looking to make an impression with the refurbishments.<br/><img alt="ADNFCR-1753-ID-18960969-ADNFCR" src="http://feeds.directnews.co.uk/feedtrack/justcopyright.gif?feedid=1753&it..." /></p>
