<p>Marriott has announced that it is rolling out green events at its European hotels, offering environmentally-friendly supplies for <a href="http://www.tsnn.co.uk/conference_organisers/suppliers" target="self">conference organisers</a>.</p><p>The company unveiled the new concept at its Frankfurt hotel, with use of energy-efficient audio visual equipment, eco-friendly presentation materials and 100 per cent Forest Stewardship Council-certified writing pads, flipcharts and stationary items all available to <a href="http://www.tsnn.co.uk/event_management_organisers/suppliers" target="self">event organisers</a>.</p><p>Paperless event proposals, access to recycling containers in or near meeting rooms and fresh, seasonal fruit and produce are also among the services offered as part of the initiative.</p><p>Frank Zehle, vice president of brand marketing and leader of Marriott's Green Council in continental Europe, said that the introduction of the green events strategy was in response to demand from customers.</p><p>"By offering “green events” throughout our hotels we feel we can make a big step to reduce our footprint on the environment while continuously delivering the high level of service our event planners expect from Marriott," he explained.</p><p>Meanwhile, organisers of the Isle of Wight festival have revealed that they are to use sustainability technology, according to Event magazine.<br/><img alt="ADNFCR-1753-ID-19198522-ADNFCR" src="http://feeds.directnews.co.uk/feedtrack/justcopyright.gif?feedid=1753&it..." /></p>
