Kevin Murphy has replaced Nigel Nathan as chairman of the Association of Exhibition Venues. The move follows Nathan’s departure after two and a half years in the role.
“My time as AEV chair has been extremely worthwhile and rewarding,” says Nathan. “I remain as confident as I was back in 2004 for the need for an inclusive trade body that represents the needs of a variety of venues that stage events and exhibitions.”
For his part, Murphy is keen to continue the good work of his predecessor.
“It is a great honour to accept the nomination and I do so fully aware of the responsibilities the role demands,” he says. “ I would like to thank my AEV colleagues for the confidence and support they have shown in me, which I intend to repay, with interest. The AEV has come a long way, but has even further to go; there is much that I intend to build on.”
