Phil Powell will be joining Melville GES in February 2013 as EMEA head of logistics from his previous role as managing director of events and exhibition logistics company CEVA Showfreight.

Melville GES' CEO Nick Marshall said, "This really is a perfect fit between Phil and Melville—for Phil at the perfect time in his career and for Melville GES, at the perfect time to accelerate the growth of our logistics business. We're all tremendously excited by the possibilities ahead."

Matthew Williams will continue to head up the Melville GES logistics business in the UK and will report to Powell, who will also assume responsibility for the company's logistics operations in Germany. Powell was inspired to join the exhibitions industry after witnessing the opening of the NEC in 1976. Having worked his way through the ranks of a dedicated event logistics company he eventually became managing director and later, in 1993, established CEVA Showfreight.

“Phil brings with him substantial knowledge and experience, along with some exciting opportunities. In his new role, he will be responsible for driving Melville GES' international freight business. Matthew Williams and his team have already developed a very successful logistics division within Melville GES, and we all recognise that the time is right to expand the international footprint of the business - Phil is ideally experienced to do this." added Marshall.
