Ricoh Arena chief hails AEO Excellence Award nomination

The Ricoh Arena's chief executive has expressed his delight at the conference centre being nominated for Venue of the Ye. . .

<p>The Ricoh Arena's chief executive has expressed his delight at the conference centre being nominated for Venue of the Year at the Association of Event Organisers' (AEO's) Excellence Awards.</p><p>Daniel Sidney told the Coventry Telegraph: "The AEO is widely recognised as the key national industry body in the conference and exhibition industry and this is a real breakthrough for the Ricoh."</p><p>Last year, the award was won by the O2 arena, while Arsenal's Emirates Stadium was also highly commended.</p><p>The AEO has announced the shortlisted companies, facilities and businesses in the 20 categories and Ricoh is up against ExCel London, Manchester United Football Club, The O2, Wembley Stadium, Sandown Park Racecourse and Business Design Centre.</p><p>Among the awards being presented at the ceremony, which will take place at the London Hilton Park Lane hotel on 19th June, are <a href="http://www.tsnn.co.uk/stand_design_and_construction/suppliers" target="self">Stand Design</a> and Build Supplier of the Year, <a href="http://www.tsnn.co.uk/display_systems/suppliers" target="self">Display System</a> Supplier of the Year and Sustainable Initiative of the Year. <br/><img alt="ADNFCR-1753-ID-19172331-ADNFCR" src="http://feeds.directnews.co.uk/feedtrack/justcopyright.gif?feedid=1753&it..." /></p>
