<p>The Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre is aiming to secure contracts from overseas <a href="http://www.tsnn.co.uk/event_management_organisers/suppliers" target="self">event organisers</a> by becoming the first UK venue to fix its prices at the current exchange rate.</p><p>Foreign <a href="http://www.tsnn.co.uk/conference_organisers/suppliers" target="self">conference organisers</a> will not be able to take advantage of the devaluation of the pound against the euro and the dollar, which has made the SECC 25 per cent cheaper than two years ago.</p><p>The sterling's fall in value has made the UK an increasingly attractive option for event buyers in North America and Europe.</p><p>"By guaranteeing our prices at the exchange rate for the date of when a contract is signed by the organiser we are able to pass on unparalleled savings and take the risk out of currency fluctuations," said Ben Goedegebuure, director of sales at the SECC.</p><p>He recently revealed that during the year ending March 2009, the venue pulled in just under 1.2 million visitors at 190 events.<br/><img alt="ADNFCR-1753-ID-19193450-ADNFCR" src="http://feeds.directnews.co.uk/feedtrack/justcopyright.gif?feedid=1753&it..." /></p>
