This year sees Confex celebrate its 30th anniversary and UBM Live have announced a number of new features for the show. For the first time Confex has launched the Hotel Lobby, a focused area for buyers to see a variety of the best properties showcasing their meetings and events products. The hotel lobby will be separated into three sections showcasing UK, international or luxury products.

Also new to the show, Confex has signed an agreement with the Local Authority Event Organisers Group (LAEOG) that will see the association’s annual general meeting held at the exhibition.

A destination village will form part of the International sector at the 2013 show. The Destination Village will represent the perfect opportunity for Destination Management Companies (DMC’s) from around the world to represent their destinations to the lucrative UK outbound market. The Village will also create an easy to navigate and knowledgeable environment for buyers looking to take their events internationally.

In February the keynote line-up for the 2013 show was announced and included Britain’s longest serving Deputy Prime Minister, Lord John Prescott. Lord Prescott will be giving the audience insight into what goes on behind the scenes of Government on Tuesday 19th.

On Wednesday the 20th, Janet Street Porter, one of the UK’s best known and well respected broadcasters, will headline the seminar programme. In ‘The World According to...’ Janet will be talking about her career to date and what it takes to get to the top.

On Thursday 21st, Geoff Cousins will present ‘Jaguar Academy of Sport: Developing Brand through Events and Sponsorship’. Geoff was Land Rover’s highly respected and successful Global Director for Sponsorship and Brand Partners and will provide the audience with exclusive business insight into how the company has reclaimed its position and how marketing strategy for all types of industries needs to work alongside lifestyle and business partnerships to maximise success.
