<p>The corporate conferencing and events organiser Call of the Wild has announced that it has agreed to the acquisition of Innov8 Events as it looks to strengthen its position in the UK market. </p><p>Coming soon after the firm scooped the prize for the Welsh Small Business of the Year in the Western Mail Business Awards for Wales, managing director Geraint Lewis has explained that the takeover of the Bournemouth-based competitor will allow it to tap into the significant market potential of the south of England. </p><p>The deal means that Call of the Wild will now have a workforce of 26, with annual turnover expected to go over the £1 million mark. </p><p>"This demonstrates that Welsh companies can compete on a national basis in the business tourism market," Mr Lewis told the Western Mail. </p><p>"With this acquisition Call of the Wild have become one of the biggest Welsh-based UK event companies."</p><p>However, the Neath-based company added that it is now looking to consolidate its place within the market rather than look to expand into the UK-wide or even the European corporate conferencing industry. <img alt="ADNFCR-1753-ID-18719842-ADNFCR" src="http://feeds.directnews.co.uk/feedtrack/justcopyright.gif?feedid=1753&it..." /></p>
