Wembley Stadium chosen as event organisers for AEO awards
Wembley Stadium has been chosen to host a major awards ceremony recognising the achievements of organisers, venues, suppliers and contractors throughout the exhibition industry.
The Association of Event Organisers (AEO) will stage its Excellence Awards at the iconic facility, where prizes such as UK Venue of the Year will be handed out on June 24th 2010.
Doug Emslie, chairman of the AEO and managing director of Tarsus, said: "We have created new team-based categories like Supplier Team of the Year and Organiser Team of the Year, to reflect how important teamwork is for businesses to succeed."
Other new awards for this year include Best Hotel in Support of the Events Industry and Best B2B Live Event.
Jackie Boughton, head of corporate sales, conference and banqueting at Wembley Stadium said that the venue was thrilled to be hosting the ceremony.
Last year's winners included ExCeL London, which took the prize for Venue of the Year.
