Wensleydale gears up for idyllic conferencing centre

<p>One of England's most picturesque regions could soon be home to a state-of-the-art conferencing venue, it has been revealed.</p><p>Presently, Wensleydale is best known for its rolling hills, sheep and cheese, but, under new plans unveiled by local councillors, it looks set to become an attractive option for those <a href="http://www.tsnn.co.uk/event_management_organisers/suppliers" target="self">events organisers </a>looking for a break from traditional city-centre <a href="http://www.tsnn.co.uk/exhibition_systems/suppliers" target="self">exhibition systems </a>such as those in Leeds or Manchester.</p><p>As well as boasting corporate conferencing facilities, the planned 'Dales Centre' will also be home to a multi-use indoor sports hall, as well as a child daycare centre and a cafe.</p><p>Commenting on the 1million initiative £1 million initiative, councillor Fleur Butler, ward member for Leyburn at Richmondshire District Council, told Darlington and Stockton Times: "The Dales Centre proposals are very much in their infancy, but this is still a really exciting and much-needed project.</p><p>"A site has already been identified, but what we really need now is for the local community to get behind this idea and help turn it into reality."</p><p>The news comes soon after a similar conferencing and leisure venue was opened in nearby Easingwold. <img alt="ADNFCR-1753-ID-18867123-ADNFCR" src="http://feeds.directnews.co.uk/feedtrack/justcopyright.gif?feedid=1753&it..." /></p>
