Notes

At the heart of Place West London was a strategic conference that gave delegates from companies, organisations and the public sector the chance to listen and debate on issues key to the future success of West London.

See the full programme here.

Organised around four themes, Place West London was an energising mix of keynote speeches, discussion panels and focussed workshops:

People - will the workforce be fit for the future? What training and skills provision do we need to ensure a competitive workforce?

Places - what are the visions and plans for regeneration and development, and how can they be realised?

Infrastructure - what needs to happen to transport and social infrastructure to keep the West London economy running?

Economy - what are the key growth sectors, and how can they be nurtured?

Description

The first Place West London took place on October 13, 2009. It aimed to help West London shape its future, and ensure continued economic growth and prosperity.

It centred on the concept of ‘place’- a location which provides home, community, employment and all aspects of a satisfying and rewarding life. The physical environment matters a lot to a place, but it is not the only component – social and infrastructural aspects all add layers to places.
The attendance list for Place West London was a who's who of the West London regeneration & economic development scene. Around 300 delegates attended from over 130 organisations
