The Primary English team from the Institute of Education, Health and Social Sciences at the University of Chichester, would be delighted if you could join us for the sixth ChiEnglish TeachMeet on Thursday 7th May 2020. The Chi English TeachMeet is a FREE bi-annual event aimed at colleagues across all sectors who have an interest in the teaching of English.
What is a TeachMeet? A TeachMeet is a FREE informal gathering of like-minded teachers coming together to present to, and learn from one another’s classroom practice including practical innovations and personal insights in teaching. Participants volunteer to demonstrate good practice they've delivered over the past year, or discuss a product that enhances classroom practice. TeachMeet events are open to all and do not charge an entry fee. Want to know more about TeachMeets? Have a look goo.gl/tDRsxT
When/where is the Chi English TeachMeet? Thursday 7th May 2020, 16:30-19:00 (refreshments from 16:30-17:00; presentations from 17:00-19:00) in the ICT Lecture Theatre at the Bognor Regis Campus, University of Chichester
How do I find out more about the Chi English TeachMeet? Follow us on Twitter https://twitter.com/ChiTeachMeet @ChiTeachMeet #chiTMenglish or email Rebecca Webb R.Webb@chi.ac.uk
If I want to present at the Chi English TeachMeet, what do I do? You could offer a ‘Micro presentation’ -lasting 7 minutes or a 'Nano-presentation’ -lasting 3 minutes. E-mail: R.Webb@chi.ac.uk to book your slot!
Could we come to the Chi English TeachMeet event as a whole school, instead of having a staff meeting/INSET training? Yes! We have had two schools do this at previous events. Not only is it FREE to you, it means that you don't have to find/provide fabulous speakers as we've already got them here! The opportunity to talk about what you've heard, and network with colleagues from other schools is also part of this great event.
Anything else I need to know? There will be cake! If you don’t want to present, you could just come along to lurk, listen and eat cake! We always have lots of amazing freebies to give out, and a GRAND PRIZE DRAW, so remember to bring a bag!
Parking at the University after 5pm is free. If you arrive before this, you will need to Pay and Display (£1.50 per hour). We encourage car sharing and public transport as far as possible. The Bognor Regis Campus is served by the U7 and 700 buses and Bognor Regis Railway Station is a short walk away from campus. You don't need to print off your Eventbrite ticket; it's all done electronically. If you need to send someone in your place, that's fine; please just let us know, so we can update our records. If you do need to cancel, please just drop us an email, or cancel via the Eventbrite link, so we know how many cakes we need!
We look forward to seeing you there!
