Born in Paris in 1955 to a pianist mother and a father who was an architect, the painter studied Italian literature and musicology at the Sorbonne before entering the Royal College of music in London. He then travelled the world as a singer until 1989 when he moved to London permanently.
The painter has lived in his artist’s studio in Kensington for the past twenty-five years. His style is rooted on a classical layered study of form. Object and subject are presented as echoes of ancient myth and drama combined with todays reality. This involves an uncompromising dedication to three dimensional life drawing.
Following two one-man shows in Paris and then Rome he decided to pursue his career as a painter. Since then despite numerous participations in group shows he has principally worked on commission as a portraitist.
