The CRN, the world’s leading network of Simultaneous Interpretation and AV suppliers for events, recently elected a new chairman at its annual general meeting in Hong Kong, hosted by Richard Wong and Polygot Translations.

New Chairperson

Panagiotis Podimatas from PC Podimatas in Greece was elected as chairperson for the next four years.  He takes over from Mr Jo Debono from Studio 7 in Malta who strengthened the CRN’s position within the market during his four years, whilst firmly establishing the profile of the network.

Incoming chair, Panagiotis Podimatas responded to his election by saying: “I thank all the Members for their trust and their faith in my vision for the future of the CRN, to increase its strength and its profitability for all the members. Jo Debono has been a superb chair during the last four years and I thank him for his invaluable efforts.”

New Board Member was also chosen to form part of the CRN’s Global Representative Committee. Mr Peter Muller from Congress Rental Hungary has joined the Board to represent the European, Middle East and Africa Region. Mr Muller has replaced Ms Renata Papadimitriou from PC Podimatas in Greece, who was in turn appointed Personal Assistant to Mr Podimatas in his new role as CRN Chairperson.

Member of the Year

The CRN Member of the Year is announced each year at the AGM based on a nomination process involving all members.  Above all it recognises an ethical, fair company that has done its upmost to work with other organisations within the CRN, whilst exceeding the expectations of clients and partners.

This year's winner was TC Group in Italy which was rewarded for its outstanding performance during the ICCA 2009 Congress in Florence.
