Former Tate Catering chief executive officer Robin Bidgood is to take the helm at Smart Event Catering, under a new partnership with Quantum Leap Events' owner Greg Lawson.

Mr Bidgood, the company's new managing director, has teamed up with event organiser Lawson, who has 28 years of experience in the industry, for the project, which will focus on "commercial contracts at cultural and visitor attraction venues in the south of England", event magazine reported.

Formally known as Smart Hospitality, Smart Event Catering will not work in the healthcare, education and manufacturing arenas.

Richard Gee, operations director at the company, said: "It is an incredibly exciting time for Smart Event Catering, and we are better placed than ever to focus on all that we do well."

"Our passion for creating exciting events in a variety of beautiful venues will continue to push us forward as one of the UK's most innovative and versatile event caterers," he added.
