Event organisers association appoints new chairman
Mark Saxby is to become the new chairman of industry association Eventia, it has been announced.
At the event organisers association's annual general meeting on June 10th, Mr Saxby, who is taking over from Mark Taylor, was unveiled as the new chair, Event magazine reported.
Mr Saxby said Eventia's membership continues to grow, adding that he is supported by a dedicated board and team "who live and breathe our values for the benefit of our members".
"The challenges of the current economic climate dictate that it is imperative that Eventia offers the industry both visibility and a voice, and we will continue to raise the importance of live events and face-to-face communication on a national platform."
The event organiser said he will continue to target corporate and association sectors for membership and promote greater networking and education.
According to the organisation, Eventia is recognised as the official trade body of the events and live marketing industry.
