Event organisers 'will grow by 13% by 2013'
Events businesses are expected to experience significant growth over the next five years, according to new research.
Market research consultancy Finaccord forecasted that event organisers and venues would be among the fastest-growing sectors for small businesses between now and 2013.
It predicted that small firms within the sector would grow by 13 per cent, enjoying the same expansion as barristers, and similar to the number of TV, film and video production businesses, which are forecasted to increase by 13.5 per cent.
Pest and vermin control services will see the biggest growth, on 17 per cent and scrap and waste disposal businesses are predicted to increase by 15 per cent.
"Whilst businesses of all sizes have been hit by the recession, looking to the future and investing in those areas that are set to expand offer real prospects for the future," said Alan Leach, director of Finaccord.
Events professionals recently debated financing at a forum hosted by the Association of Event Organisers.
