GL events has won the main overlay supply contract at The Commonwealth Games

2010 Delhi.

This is the largest

contract in the history of GL events; they will be supplying everything from

ground works to signage, power, air conditioning, furniture and seating for

several thousand spectators. This contract will see GL events supplying over

50,000sqm from its new Absolute range of structures, of which 40,000sqm has

been manufactured especially for the Games; the quality of the Absolute structures

was a key factor in GL events winning the contract.

Operations Director for the UK division: GL events Owen Brown has been seconded

to Delhi as part of GL events group management team for the Commonwealth Games

overlay contract. Hayward and his team in Delhi will face many challenges in

the project, including temperatures of up to 46c, basic working conditions and

a monsoon season.
