Opex announces completion of its integration plans

Following the acquisition of one of the UK’s leading exhibition contractors Stanco Exhibitions in May 2007, event services business Opex Group has announced the completion of its integration plans for the two brands.

The aim of the deal, which brought together two of the highest calibre exhibition service companies operating in Britain, was to create the UK’s principle customer-focused event service group. Key to fulfilling this goal will be the effectiveness of the integration of the companies involved, which has just been finalised.

“I am pleased to announce the natural evolution of the next phase of Opex Group,” said group managing director Andy Gibb. “Opex Group remains the holding company for its industry-encompassing range of brands and services, and we will continue to manage our substantial venue contracts within Earls Court, Olympia and the Business Design Centre, as well as our international business.”

According to Gibb, the core services of the group, incorporating stand fitting (including Modul), electrics, floor covering and furniture, will now be offered entirely through the Stanco Exhibitions brand, and Frameworks will continue to provide design and build services from within the Stanco Exhibitions division. Meanwhile, Expo-Systems will continue to provide registration and data management services, ExCeL London Invision, a key company in its own right, will continue to handle the advertising infrastructure at ExCeL, and Opex Event Management Services will continue to provide operation expertise.

Commenting on the restructured company, Guy Morgan, chairman of Opex Group, said: “Our consistent commitment towards customer centricity and enriching both our product and service offerings will only be enhanced by the completion of our integration plans. These key components of Opex Group will future-proof our business as we continue to be competitive, creative and add value to our customer’s businesses.”

Paul Slaney, Opex Group’s group operations director, believes customers will benefit from the move, adding: “It provides clarity of service and accountability across our whole product and service range, something that is often missing in other large service providing companies. All Opex Group divisions will provide an unrivalled level of experience, service and delivery, building upon the excellent long-established reputations both companies have enjoyed.”
