Portable staging company receives Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo order

NUSSLI has won the contact to plan and construct the grandstand facility at the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo 2011 and 2012, it has been announced.

NUSSLI has won the contact to plan and construct the grandstand facility at the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo 2011 and 2012, it has been announced.

The portable staging and temporary event infrastructure company's contract also includes the installation of numerous containers for hygienic facilities, technical rooms, actors' chambers, and the hospitality area, as well as the grandstand area.

NUSSLI signed the agreement with the general contractor Sir Robert McAlpine Ltd.

"We are convinced that NUSSLI is the right partner for the planning and installation of the grandstand facility", said Boyd McFee, director at Sir Robert McAlpine Ltd.

Some 40 workers will install 700 tonnes of steel for the supporting structure at the grandstand facility over seven weeks as part of the project.

Established in 1950, the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo takes place every year in August in front of Edinburgh Castle.

This year, the Tattoo, which will feature pipers, gymnasts, singers, dancers and a motorcycle display team, is celebrating its diamond jubilee year.
