As part of its recent series, Britain’s Best Dish, ITV1 took a mobile kitchen on tour around the country to bring it’s finalists food the nation. The cookery series scoured Britain in search of the nation’s best amateur chefs and their tastiest signature dishes, before taking the finalists on a whistle-stop tour of the UK – taking in Stonehenge, the London Eye, Gateshead and Blackpool – to allow the public to taste their creations.

Specialist catering and bar equipment manufacturers and rental company ROKA supplied the series with its Roadrunner 450 catering trailer, to take the three finalists’ gourmet grub to the nation. The Roadrunner trailer (part of ROKA’s rental fleet) was equipped with all the on-board facilities that needed to provide samples to the public on route, including an oven, hobs, sinks and refrigeration facilities. ROKA’s team also handled the tour logistics, providing a crew to manoeuvre the trailer between destinations and ensure it was ready for the filming.

“The tour was a challenge both editorially and logistically,” explained Yvonne Alexander, producer/director for ITV. ”ROKA played a pivotal role in the success of this challenge providing us with a fantastic, visually alluring and very functional vehicle, along with an enthusiastic and dedicated crew. I would have no hesitation in using them again.”
