A Sheffield-based consultancy has produced exhibition stands for the launch of a high-profile government campaign.

The Workshop developed the display stand and created a website for the Backing Young Britain initiative, unveiled by prime minister Gordon Brown, the Star reports.

Spearheaded by the Department for Work and Pensions, the £1 billion campaign aims to encourage businesses to offer mentoring, training, apprenticeships, jobs and work experience for 18 to 24-year-olds.

Mark Pearce, director of The Workshop, told the newspaper that his company has also lent its support for its initiative, adding that the firm has previously supported young people in Sheffield by mentoring design students.

"Backing Young Britain shares our own philosophy on the importance of investing in our future talent, so it seems very appropriate that having created the website we also pledge our direct support for the campaign," he added.

Event organisers were recently advised to make the most of opportunities surrounding the Olympic Games by Len Olender, Olympic director of travel, event management and marketing service at Sportsworld Group.
