The 41st Olympia International Art & Antiques Fair will be taking place at Olympia Exhibition Centre, London, between 6-16 June 2013. Around 200 dealers will be exhibiting, selling the widest choice of high quality art and antiques in London this summer season. In 2012, we had 70 furniture specialists, 18 from overseas, 40 new dealers and 30 who returned after a break. A rich and eclectic mix covering 34 disciplines will be available to buy, such as 20th century design, contemporary, haute epoque, 18th and 19th century English furniture, modern British art, tribal art, ceramics, carpets, art deco, silver and jewellery and antique reclamation to name but a few. more

Barocci Exhibition London

Admire the work of one of the most talented 16th century artists at the Barocci Exhibition London. Titled Brilliance and Grace, this fantastic exhibition showcases a range of masterpieces that reflect the gentle side of the human form, as painted by this Italian genius. Federico Barocci Born in 1535, Federico Barocci was a Renaissance artist whose influential work is characterised by his interesting use of vivid colours and his often religious subject matter. The Barocci Exhibition London has on display 16 of his most significant devotional paintings, such as The Last Supper in which we see Jesus surrounded by his apostles with angels flying overhead. Artistic character The Barocci Exhibition London will not only be displaying the artist’s classic paintings, but it will also be exhibiting five of his finest portraits depicted alongside their preliminary sketches. Visitors to the exhibition will realise that much of Barocci’s work has been inspired by people and animals, and in many of his paintings you can see how he has brought warmth to these characters through his use of soft lighting and colour. Roald Dahl classic Charlie and the Chocolate Factory was written in 1964 and tells the story of a young boy named Charlie, who lives in extreme poverty. After winning a golden ticket, he and his grandfather embark on a magical journey with four spoilt kids through the magical chocolate factory of Willy Wonka. The story has inspired many adaptations, including two feature films, and if you manage to get Charlie and the Chocolate Factory Tickets for the London musical, you will get to see a brand new adaptation that is much closer to the book and unlike the previous movie versions.
